Emma and Neil’s car broke down in the middle of nowhere. As they were scrambling to fix the auto, Emma found a proposal ring inside the glove box. She smiled and ran to hug Neil, cheerfully shouting, “Yes”. He pushed her away and quietly said: “That’s not for you”. He took the ring and put it in his pocket. Emma’s happiness switched to angry confusion. She demanded answers, wanting to know who the woman Neil wanted to propose to was. He dismissed her and exclaimed that he was done with her. He got into the car, which he managed to jump-start, and drove off, leaving Emma alone. She was now in an unknown place, without a phone or money.
Desperate, she walked around, trying to find someone to help her. Eventually, she came across a lonely house on the hill. She knocked on the door and explained her situation to the owner. But he refused to aid her, completely unbothered by her distress. Emma got frustrated by another man treating her like nothing. This time, she wouldn’t stand down. She quietly got into the house and planned to wait out the upcoming storm hiding in one of the rooms. But soon, she’d be trapped in the house she sought refuge in.
